Rosso di Montalcino Banfi
The wine Rosso di Montalcino Castello Banfi is made from 100% Sangiovese grapes. The selected grapes are vinified in Horizon hybrid stainless steel & wood tanks, with an average maceration of 7-10 days. After an aging period of 10-12 months, partially in barriques and partially in large oak barrels, followed by an additional 6 months in bottle before release.
This wine is a super-classic of Montalcino and Banfi. A wine able to match the elegance and solidity of its elder counterpart with a freshness and directness that make it one of the most versitile wines within Banfi’s offer. Very enjoyable when released, it is also suitable for a long aging.
Ruby red colour, very intense. The bouquet is complex, with fruity notes of cherry, plum, small berries along with hints of vanille, coffe and tobacco. The structure is large and well balanced thanks to the pleasant and vibrant acidity. The finish is remarkably persistent.

Banfi, a family owned wine producer based in Tuscany, is celebrated worldwide as “Builders of Brunello.” The Mariani family, firmly established as leading importers of fine wine in the US, founded their Castello Banfi vineyard estate in Montalcino in 1978. In so doing they indissolubly linked Banfi to this terroir and its growth.
