Vigna di Mandranova Grillo Sicilia DOC BIO
The Grillo wine coming from Vigna di Mandranova vineyard and produced by Alessandro di Camporeale winery is a very respectable Grillo, which offers extraordinary freshness and balance and it represents a captivating interpretation of one of the most famous Sicilian native grape varieties. The vineyard is about 600 meters above sea level and here the harvest is carried out by hand during the second decade of August with a careful selection of the grapes, which are then de-stemmed and cooled, to then be softly pressed in the absence of oxygen. After 15 days of fermentation in a steel tank at 14-15 °C, the wine ages in steel for 6 months on fine lees at 10-12 °C and it refines in the bottle for another 2 months at 18 °C.
This Sicilian white wine is straw-yellow in colour with brilliant green undertones. It opens up to the nose with a strong fruity and exotic impact: very fresh notes of grapefruit, papaya, mango, passion fruit well balanced by more delicate essences of white peach and elderflower. The strongly mineral, almost salty entrance evolves into a powerful, long and balanced sweet final. We suggest serving it at a temperature of 10-12 °C.
