Vigna di Mandranova Catarratto Sicilia DOC BIO
In the oldest vineyard on Alessandro di Camporeale estate, Vigna di Mandranova, at almost 600 meters above sea level, Catarratto grapes reveal all their potential and the wine "Vigna di Mandranova" is one of their greatest expressions. The harvest is carried out in the last week of September by hand, through a careful selection of the grapes in the vineyard. After crushing, destemming and cooling, the bunches are then gently pressed in the absence of oxygen. Fermentation is carried out in steel for 15 days at a temperature of 14-15 °C. The 10% of the mass ages in steel for 8 months on the fine lees at 10-12 °C and the remainig part ages for 8 months in 600 liter French oak tonneaux, before a final refinement in the bottle for another 6 months at 18 °C.
This Sicilian white wine is straw-yellow in colour with bright green undertones. On the nose the bouquet is fruity and floral, with hints of white flowers, lemon peel and green apple is completed by a spicy and mineral finish, in which notes of white pepper and flint at the end emerge, pleasantly mineral. We suggest serving it at a temperature of 10-12 °C.
