Donnatà Nero d'Avola Sicilia DOC BIO
Donnatà Nero d'Avola Sicilia DOC is a vigorous 100% Nero d'Avola produced by Alessandro di Camporeale winery, between Contrada Mandranova and Contrada Torretta, in the countryside of Camporeale (near Palermo). The harvest is carried out in the second decade of September with manual harvesting and selection of the bunches. After a seven-day alcoholic fermentation at 23-26 °C in steel tanks, the crushed grapes macerate 12 days at controlled temperature, carrying out the malolactic fermentation in steel. The wine ages 6 months for the most part in steel and a small part in oak barrels of 30 hl, plus another 10 months of refinement at a controlled temperature of 18 °C in the bottle.
Donnatà Nero d'Avola has a ruby red colour with lively and luminous undertones. The aromatic bouquet is complex: fragrant and intense notes of plum, raspberry, blackberry, cherry and violet mix together with essences of Mediterranean scrub, nutmeg and chocolate. Donnatà is an intense and well-structured red, which at the same time proves to be soft and pulsating, very pleasant to drink due to its gustatory harmony and its long finish. We suggest serving it at a temperature of 16 °C.
FOOD MATCHING SUGGESTIONS
Donnatà Nero d'Avola Sicilia DOC is a Sicilian red wine to pair with the typical dishes of Palermo cuisine, such as baked anelletti pasta. Served a little colder, it is also excellent as red wine for fish, combining, for example, with a succulent tuna steak.
