Rocca di Montemassi
The estate is in the foothills of Montemassi, in Tuscan Maremma, a unique area between the Tyrrhenian coast and at the foot of the Metal-bearing Hills. Producing intense wines, as the soul and the scents of Maremma, restore the local history and enhance the strength of its territory. These were the objectives that led to create Rocca di Montemassi estate, in a land with an unmistakable identity as Maremma. The over 160 hectares of vines at Rocca di Montemassi are devoted to the cultivation of two great indigenous varieties of the Maremma, Sangiovese (red) and Vermentino (white), as well as to that of other grapes of outstanding quality: Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah. The distinctive features of the mineral composition of the soils, the climate of the Tuscan coast, the variation between day-and night-time temperatures and the cool, temperate breezes that blow in from the sea and temper the heat of summer, are the outstanding qualities of the Maremma Vineyard.
