La Poderina

La Poderina is one of the 5 estates part of Tenute Del Cerro Group, a great oenological project that has its roots in two of the most important wine regions of Italy: Umbria and Tuscany. La Poderina is one of the Tuscan estates, located in Montalcino, in the Castelnuovo dell'Abate area, which is famous for the particular elegance and balance of Sangiovese Grosso, the grape at the base of the most famous Tuscan wines in the world: Brunello di Montalcino DOCG.

The estate covers a total area of about 80 hectares, of which 37 are vineyards, cultivated according to highly qualitative rather than quantitative systems, so as to record yields significantly lower than those permitted by law. The wine production of La Poderina estate offers Tuscan reds in line with the local winemaking methods: the wines are aged in French oak barriques as well as in large barrels, producing mainly Brunello di Montalcino DOCG in two versions: “Poggio Abate” Brunello di Montalcino DOCG Reserve and Brunello di Montalcino DOCG. La Poderina also produces Rosso di Montalcino DOC and Moscadello di Montalcino DOC.
