Armando Martino winery bears the name of its innovator, Armando Martino. Its history is over a century long and it starts at the end of the 19th century, as a company dedicated to grapes, musts and wines trade. Subsequently, the direction changes its course, focusing on the production of grapes, thanks to the purchase of vineyards in the Vulture area, as well as the winemaking and bottling processes, with a constant attention paid to qualitative results, offered at an affordable price. It is precisely in the excellent quality-price ratio, in the passion for grapes cultivation and for the ancient traditions that lead Martino winery to becoming one of the most appreciated winemaking company of Vulture.
The owners, Armando Martino, and his daughter, Carolin Martino, are the architects of this success story in Basilicata. The company uses grapes coming exclusively from the fresh and sunny hills of the Vulture and Matera areas, of which about one third are grown in their own vineyards and the remaining part are purchased from trusted winemakers, linked to the winery by decades of supply relationships. The main wine producted by Martino winery is the Aglianico del Vulture, which is considered the flagship product of the winery, then there are other mimor grapes varieties: Greco, Malvasia, Moscato, Chardonnay.
The winery, located in Rionero in Vulture, was created by merging technology and innovation and today it has functional rooms that integrate tradition and modernity, hosting modern winemaking and bottling plants. Worthy of note is the striking tangle of natural tufa caves, renovated without affecting its original beauty, used as an aging area.
