Galardi winery is located on the slopes of Roccamonfina volcano, in Campania and it is run personally by the owners, who founded it in 1991, relying on the consulting of the famous Italian oenologist Riccardo Cotarella. The first intervention concerned the recovery of old vineyards and later the construction of new plants. The first harvest of "Terra di Lavoro" dates back to 1993 and from the very beginning this wine obtained numerous acclaim from the international critics, reaching immediately very high quality levels and a clear unique character.
The potential of the volcanic sloping towards the sea positively influences this great Southern red wine. The territory extends over a volcanic soil arounf Roccamonfina, where vineyards and olive groves in an enchanting setting of chestnut woods. The cultivation of chestnut, olive groves and vineyards together with the production of wine and extra-virgin olive oil prepresents Galardi's business, aiming to Organic Agriculture, thanks to this particularly balanced ecosystem.
Galardi "Terra di Lavoro" is a wine of great structure and prestige, made by the skilful blend of Aglianico and Piedirosso, aged in new oak barriques for 12 months. The first harvest took place on less than 1 hectare, while today the vineyard area covers about 10 hectares. 2010 and 2008 vintages represent some of the finest results produced to date.
