Fratelli Serio e Battista Borgogno

Since 1897, the family-run Fratelli Serio e Battista Borgogno winery produces Barolo in the heart of Cannubi, cultivating with love their vineyards to produce a genuine wine and to transmit all the authenticity of their land.
In the beginning, in the 1800, there was Cavalier Francesco Borgogno. After his death, the land passed to his grandson Lodovico Borgogno, and eventually to his two children Serio and Battista, that with theirs work, they managed to turn a dream into reality: building their house and their winery on top of Cannubi, for a total of 3 ha of vineyards, in the heart of Cannubi. Now, as ever, our winery wants to keep an absolutely familiar character. The winery is now run by his daughters Anna and Paola Borgogno, with the invaluable help of Federica Boffa, part of the fifth generation of the family. Marco Bolla and his daughter Emanuela Bolla, Serio Borgogno's grandson, passionately work in their vineyards and in their cellar, personally leading every step of the wine making process: from pruning to harvest, from pressing to bottling.
In the vineyard, the work follows the natural growth cycle of the vine adapting to the different climatic needs of the vintage. In the cellar, they make traditional fermentation in wooden vats with long maceration and we only use large barrels in Slavonian oak 25-50 hl for long aging, as evidenced by tradition.
