Fattoria del Cerro
Fattoria del Cerro is one of the 5 estates part of Tenute Del Cerro Group, a great oenological project that has its roots in two of the most important wine regions of Italy: Umbria and Tuscany. Fattoria del Cerro is one of the Tuscan estates, located in Acquaviva in Montepulciano (SI), with its 181 hectares, whose 94 mostly devoted to the production of the famous Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, for a total area of about 600 hectares, including the olive grove. It is no coincidence, in fact, if this winery is the largest private producer of Vino Nobile di Montepulciano in Tuscany. The breadth and variety of exposure of its vineyards guarantee the possibility of selecting the best grapes to create high-quality Tuscan red wines.
Vino Nobile di Montepulciano is one of the oldest and most prestigious wines of Tuscany, produced on the hills between Val d'Orcia and Val di Chiana and obtained from a particular Sangiovese clone, which is called "Prugnolo Gentile" in the Montepulciano area, because of its marked scent of plum. It is a very high-quality wine, but produced in limited quantities and Fattoria del Cerro produces it in 3 distinct versions: Vino Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG, Vino Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG Riserva and the single vineyard selection called "Antica Chiusina". Along with the production of Vino Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG, the company also offers Chinati dei Colli Senesi, Rosso di Montepulciano, Rosso di Toscana IGT and Terre di Siena DOP Extravergin Olive Oil.
