For the Farina Family, wine is a sort of inevitable legacy, embraced with conviction, passion and above all love. For Claudio, Elena and Alessandro Farina, love is in producing wine and telling what happens in the vineyard and in the cellar, with transparency and honesty. The Farina winery is located in Valpolilcella Classica and its wine production is the result of 45 hectares of selected vineyards (10 owned and 35 of historic recipients), followed with respect and spasmodic attention, because only the attention to detail is able to reach a higher quality and to enhance a native and extraordinary grape like Corvina. There are two historic vineyards, real Cru of Valpolicella: Vigneto Montefante (300 m asl), with its tufaceous, clayey and calcareous soil and excellent hillside exposure, is an ideal habitat for Corvina destined for Riserva Amarone Montefante; Vigneto Montecorna, located on Mount Masua, characterized by an extraordinary limestone soil, an ideal base for the production of grapes dedicated to Valpolicella Ripasso Montecorna.
According to Farina, the quality of the wine is born in the vineyard, but it is equally true that today the investment in technology in the cellar becomes fundamental to enhance the effort made in the vineyard. For this reason, the Farina Family relies on a skilful use of technology and wood, trying to combine innovation with naturalness and quality. Thus, the grapes harvested and selected manually in boxes are left to dry in traditional drying warehouses, called "fruttai", with constantly monitored temperature and humidity. Slavonian oak barrels and barriques then take care of a slow wine ageing.
